Terrafirma Tackle Tough Mudder For Charity

Terrafirma have raised over £500 for homeless charity St Mungo’s. Over the weekend 9 brave members of the Terrafirma team took on the South West Tough Mudder Challenge. The team have been training for the past 6 weeks for the course which consists of a 5K run with 13 gruelling obstacles to raise money and awareness for the charity.

St Mungo’s is the largest provider of outreach services in the country, each night offering a bed and support to more than 2,800 people across the South and South West of England. While sleeping rough is the most visible form of homelessness, the causes and consequences of having nowhere stable to live are often much more complicated. That’s why St Mungo's have developed a recovery-based approach for our clients, focusing on addressing the issues a person faces to help them move on with their lives. At the end of a client’s recovery journey, employment is usually the last barrier to breaking the cycle of homelessness; the ‘Roll on Monday’ project gives clients an opportunity to gain six months paid administration work experience in corporate law firms in London and Bristol.

Terrafirma's team of specialist geologists, engineers and data scientists are widely recognised across the lending, insurance and financial risk sectors. As pioneers in ground and sub-ground data, information, risk assessment and reporting solutions we translate complex geological and engineering risks into useful and intelligent information to allow professionals and the general public to make informed decisions.

CEO and Founder of Terrafirma, Tom Backhouse said: “We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to everyone who has sponsored our Tough Mudder Challenge, our aim is to raise awareness of the impact St Mungo’s has on those in need. We had a brilliant day and are already planning to do the 10K next year to raise more money for charity.”

The money donated will go towards supporting St Mungo’s projects ‘Putting Down Roots’ and ‘Recovery College’ based in Bristol which focus on mental health, housing, shelters and trauma counselling.
